Dina Bedenko has been living in San Diego, California for 15 years, since she coming with her family from one of the former republics of the USSR. It was a traumatic refuge from the war zone, but she is still closely connected with her roots, friends and culture in Russia.

She received her BA in Fine Arts from San Diego State University, and briefly studied drawing and painting In Moscow Academy of Architecture. Presently she woks as a full-time artist, exhibiting her work locally, and doing commissioned work for designers and private individuals. She has had four successful solo exhibitions within the past two years and participated in numerous group shows all over San Diego. Dina’s current infatuation are acrylics on canvas, wood and metal, with plenty of texture, metallic paints and varnishes. Her creations are not particularly fixed in any style of theme, she likes to keep merging from one experiment to another.

Dina is interested in the transcendental quality of her images, focusing on color, dimension and their vibrational impact. Dina draws much of her inspiration from music, design and film. She has recently started exploring photography, especially when it is combined with travel, one of her great passions. Her goal is to start showing her work nationally and internationally, as well as progressing outside of the realm of painting and onto other creative outlets.
