Graciela Sevilla is
managing editor of “Full Focus”, the local news/public
affairs program produced and aired weeknights on KPBS-TV, the
local PCS affiliate in San Diego.
A working journalist for almost 20 years, she started in
newspapers, then transferred her skills to internet news and
finally to television. Before joining KPBS in late 1999, she
produced public affair programs for UCSD-TV.
Grace left the newspaper world during the dot-com boom to
return to San Diego where she created a “virtual newsroom”,
overseeing a staff of reporters and photographers covering
the length of the U.S.-Mexico border for a news website.
During her time as a print journalist, she worked as a reporter
on the metro staff of The Washington Post , as Mexico Correspondent
for The Arizona Republic and as a staff writer at The San
Diego Union where her last assignment was covering migrant
worker issues in North County . A San Diego native, she graduated
from University of California, San Diego with a degree in
political science and she earned a master's degree in International
Journalism from the University of Southern California.
